How to Stop Whatsapp From Downloading Images and Files Automatically
At times, most time, not all pictures, videos, Gifs sent from Whatsapp group, or contacts are worth auto-downloading. We found some annoying images, videos, and Gifs in our gallery. We kept wondering where it came from but later discovered it was from a particular WhatsApp contact or group.
By default, WhatsApp is set to auto-download videos, pictures, and Gifs which are low bit size. This kind of media will auto-download to the phone gallery without any restriction.
Your Whatsapp won't auto-download any media except while using mobile data by following these steps.

- Go to the Whatsapp app
- Click on the three dots at the top right corner
- Click on Settings
- Click on Data and Storage usage

STEP 2
- Click on When Using Mobile Data
- Uncheck all the checked media
- Click on OK
Your Whatsapp won't auto-download any media except while using mobile data by following these steps.
You can also follow these steps to stop auto-downloading while using WiFi, just select When Connected WiFi and follow step 2.
