COVID-19: How to Properly Sanitize And Disinfect Your Mobile Phone

The recent outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19) has put most countries in a state of dilemma. Many have suffered lots of casualties due to the recent upsurge of coronavirus cases worldwide. To curb the spread of this virus, each of us needs to maintain proper personal hygiene to reduce and eradicate this disease. Our smartphones are one of the major carriers of conditions, so we have stated ways to properly sanitize and disinfect your gadgets in this post.

SmartPhones are fragile devices, and also they can contact disease so quickly, but how can we go about this without affecting the device?.

How to Properly Sanitize Your Mobile Phone

Sanitize Your Mobile Phone

1. Wash your hand, not your phone
Apart from keeping your mobile phone clean, we also have to maintain proper hygiene by washing our hands regularly. Keep your hand off your eyes, nose, mouth, and ear if not clean.

2. Clean Your Phone With Methylated Spirit
Get yourself a reasonable amount of Methylated Spirit and soft fiber; the tissue will do as well; apply a few drops of Methylated Spirit on the wool, make sure it's not socked, then gently wipe your phone with fiber. Don't pour the spirit on the mobile device directly as it might damage it.

3. Use UV Sanitizer
A UV Sanitizer box can clean up 99.9% of viruses on your smartphone. It makes use of ultraviolet light to sanitize your smartphone, and it cost $14, though we don't recommend this because it's still yet to be proven that it can disinfect your mobile phone from COVID-19.

4. Wipe, Not Pour Alcohol
Alcohol can be the best to combat this virus, but we should also know how to properly use it on our mobile devices. For example, pouring liquor on your smartphone can strip the oleophobic and hydrophobic coatings that keep oil and water from damaging your display and other ports.

Some website suggests mixing alcohol and water yourself, but it's crucial to get the concentration right. Get it wrong, and you could damage your phone. The safest bet is to use disinfectant wipes containing 70% isopropyl alcohol to clean your phone screen. Besides,  Apple says it's OK to use Clorox Wipes and others with similar concentrations.

Symptoms Of Corona Virus (COVID-19)

Before developing symptoms, people may be sick with the virus for 1 to 14 days. The most common symptoms of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) are fever, tiredness, and dry cough. However, most people (about 80%) recover from the illness without needing special treatment.

More rarely, the disease can be severe and even fatal. Older people, and people with other medical conditions (such as asthma, diabetes, or heart disease), may be more vulnerable to becoming severely ill.
